Basically we recommend the standard AMS Frame Guard for: 

  • Top tube, cable and miscellaneous on DH/Freeride bikes
  • Top tube, cable and miscellaneous on Trail/AllMountain/Enduro bikes
  • Top tube, cable and miscellaneous on XC/Rally bikes
  • Downtube and miscellaneous on XC/Rally bikes
  • Top tube, cable and miscellaneous on Cross/Road/Urban bikes
  • Downtube and miscellaneous on Cross/Road/Urban bikes

We recommend the AMS Frame Frame Guard XL for: 

  • Downtube, seat stays and seat tube on DH/Freeride bikes
  • Downtube, seat stays and seat tube on Trail/AllMountain/Enduro bikes 

We recommend the AMS Frame Guard XXL for:

  • Downtube, top tube and seat stays on big electric mountain bikes

We recommend the AMS Fork Guard for ... you guessed it, any suspension fork ;-) 

We recommend the AMS Chain Guard for chain and seat stays of XC, Gravel, Cross and Road bikes

As you see the XL on our Frame Guards doesn't have anything to do with an XL size of the frame. It's just a bigger protectected area.
